The Garrison Staff & Lovely Food

I dined in the Garrison Restaurant, which is my regular practice. I ordered the Cajun Salmon Fillet with sweet potato fries and peppers in a cajun sauce. This was not the first time I have tried this dish, however this time it was cooked and presented to perfection. Through my work I have been staying in Hotels for over four years and have never tasted anything so good for a long time. 10/10 Perfect, excellent food, most probably best meal in four and a half years simply the best. - Mr P Hogan

My wife and I stayed for one night at the Garrison Hotel on our visit to Sheffield to watch the snooker.
The Garrison is just off the A61 and easy to find, whilst also being only 10 minutes drive into Sheffield.
We were greeted by friendly staff and this turned out to be the case throughout our stay as every member of staff was so friendly and helpful, especially Graham who went out of his way to help us.
As for the hotel, the rooms were excellently incorporated into the former barracks and were well maintained and spotlessly clean.
The bar was open in the evening and was a nice place to stop by for a drink or two and the breakfast included in the excellent room rate was of superb quality (cereal, pastries, toast, juice and a full English breakfast (which you order)).
The Garrison is a great find and if we return to Sheffield, this would be at the top of our list as a place to stay.
Great staff and a great hotel.

'Weekend stay'
We stayed Friday and Saturday nights. Room was fine, everything we needed, comfortable and clean. Maybe slightly dated but not a problem. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice, staff very good. We would definitely stay again, location is perfect. Only negative, our room was very close to the noisy main road, perhaps ask for a quieter location.

'A lovely stay'
My wife and I stayed for one night on Friday 12th June.Arrived early but no problem at reception gave us a room straight
away that happen to be available. The room was pleasant and very clean, tea/coffee,TV, power shower and looked out onto
alot of greenery and well kept courtyard. There is ample parking and I noticed a few CT cameras around the parking area.
The Hotel building as a lot of charactor and history and a lovely atmosphere.
It as a lovely bar area serving good valve bar meals and a restaurant with a good menu and good service. There was a soul
music 60s/70s night in the restaurant which was fully booked and I was not surpised it looked a great night.
Breakfast was help yourself to cereal etc and then a cooked breakfast was served.
Outside from the hotel there is a Morrisons across the way, also sells fuel if the car needs topping up.
A short walk past this is the buses and trams which run into city centre only 1.80p on bus they all seem to be
passing every 10 mins. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

'Good Value for Money'
Very good value for the money. This is the third time we have stayed at The Garrison, and I'm sure that we will do so again.

'A good experience'
We stayed overnight after our grand-daughters wedding reception at the Garrison. The whole event was wonderful, the food was tasty and plentiful. The staff friendly and helpful. The rooms were warm and comfortable and the breakfast topped off an excellent experience. Well done to the Garrison.

'The Staff are Friendly'

'I have stayed at the Garrison Hotel a number of times over 10 years, whilst visiting family and friends. It never fails me. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfast choices are varied and sufficient to suit the largest appetites. Travelling as a single female I always feel safe at the Garrison. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this friendly, comfortable and characterful hotel.'
